North Shore's Hometown Grocery Experts for over 50 years
History – Lakeside Foods was established in 1958 by Archie Gaudreau, the trusted butcher at the original store owned by National Tea. Archie had significant success due to his offering of high quality meat, dairy and grocery products on the North Shore. Within ten years, Archie opened three more stores in Glencoe, Highland Park and Lake Forest.
In 1977 Archie sold the stores to Gene Smith. The Smith family operated the stores until 1999.
In 1999 the Winnetka store was purchased by the Geraghty family. Brian is a New Trier high school graduate that met his wife Terri while they worked together at the store. Being a long time employee of Lakeside Foods, Brian takes great pride in carrying on the tradition of providing the finest foods accompanied by the companies famous “Red Carpet" service.
